New St. George Serbian Orthodox Church is consecrated in Lenexa

St. George Serbian Orthodox Church celebrated both a new birth and a 100th birthday on Saturday.
The church, which has been a fixture in Kansas City, Kan., for a century, consecrated its new home in Lenexa. About 325 people gathered for the ceremony.Clergy from throughout the Midwest joined church members and guests at the consecration, liturgy and celebration at 11001 Greenwood. County to weigh Expocentre bids

T OPEKA ( June 9, 2005 ) Shawnee County commissioners today will consider awarding bids for more than $2 million worth of capital improvements at the Kansas Expocentre.
County facilities management director Jon Forrestt said four local contractors -- KBS, Kelly Construction, Rinner Construction and Senne Co. -- have submitted bids. Forrestt said bids were for about $2.25 million from KBS, $2.38 million from Rinner, $2.39 million from Senne and $2.44 million from Kelly. All were below the project budget of $2.5 million, he said....
